STORY
Tomyris was a legendary warrior queen of the Massagetae, an ancient nomadic people inhabiting parts of Central Asia. Her story is closely linked to the Persian Empire and its ruler at the time, Cyrus the Great. According to Greek historian Herodotus, Tomyris was a formidable and fearless queen. She famously clashed with Cyrus the Great when he attempted to invade her territory. The Massagetae defeated the Persians in a fierce battle, and Cyrus was killed. Tomyris remains an iconic historical figure known for her strength, leadership, and courage in defending her people against outside invaders. Her story has been retold in various historical accounts and has become a part of Central Asian folklore and legend.
